A seminar titled ‘Influence of store image on store loyalty: A study of the retail industry in Bangladesh’ was held at Chittagong Independent University (CIU) on Sunday.
CIU Marketing Department Assistant Professor Dr Robaka Shamsher presented outcome of a research at the seminar.She at the seminar said that attraction of consumers to super-shops was increased due to improvement of information-technology, social change, and an increase in average income of family, change of consumers’ choice and use of social networks.
The researcher said the super-shops will have to create own goodwill through serving customers if they want to survive in the competitive markets.
She also said that the super-shops have been contributing to the country’s GDP growth.
Besides, the shops also created job opportunity for unemployed youths along with meeting demands of the consumers, she said.
The university Business faculty Dean Dr Mir Mohammad Nurul Absar Nahid, Finance and Economic department Head Dr Syed Manjur Quader, Marketing department Head Dr Mohammad Nayeem Abdullah, Human Resources Management department Head Mosleh Uddin Chowdhury Khaled, Assistant Professors Abu Saleh Mahmud, Kamruddin Parvez, Rahaht Bari Tuhin and Lecturer Ashikul Mahmud Irfan were present at the seminar among others.
