Bogura: Four people who were found slaughtered in a paddy field of Baladighi village in Shibganj upazila on May 7 have been murdered over the share of money got from selling drugs, claimed police on Monday, reports UNB.
Police arrested three people who were directly involved in the four murders, said district police super Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan in a briefing.The arrestees were identified as Jewel Sheikh, 25, son of Rafiqul Sheikh of Chawkpara village in Shibganj upazila, Abul Kalam Azad, 48, son of Abdus Samad of Talukdarpara of Chandanpur, and Rubel Miah, son of Abu Bakar of Daboir village.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested two more suspects over the murders.
They are M Abu Bakkar Pramanik, 50, son of Rostam Ali of Badladighi village, and M Zahidul Islam alias Tera, 48, son of late Abdus Sattar of Kathpara. They were later handed over to Shibganj Police Station.
Earlier on May 7, four young men Zakaria Islam, 32, son of Jahurul Islam of Kathgara village in Shibganj, Shabrul Islam, 35, son of Asir Uddin of Kathgara Chawkpara, and Helal Uddin, 36, son of Azahar Ali of Punot village in Kalai upazila of Joypurhat and Khabir—were found slaughtered in a paddy field of Baladighi village in Shibganj upazila.
The SP said police arrested Jewel, Azad and Rubel on Sunday night and they were directly involved in the murders.
