The two-week long multinational exercise titled ‘Shanti Doot-4’concluded at Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) in Gazipur on Monday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s International Affairs Adviser Prof Dr Gowher Rizvi was present at the closing session of the exercise as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants.The exercise was hosted by Bangladesh in cooperation with the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) as cosponsor under the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) programme.
The exercise was featured with three broad aspects - Field Training Event (FTE), Staff Training Event (STE) and Critical Enabler Capability Enhancement (2CE).
A total of 1,123 participants from 21 countries across the globe participated in the exercise. The participating countries are Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, Ghana, Great Britain, Indonesia, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Korea, Sri Lanka, USA and Vietnam.
Shanti Doot-4 aimed at ensuring tactical proficiency and technical competence of leaders and soldiers for supporting a unit’s Mission Essential Tasks List in UN peacekeeping mission.
