Sri Lanka opener Upul Tharanga said that they have good idea about Bangladesh’s new recruits who have been added in T20 squad of the Tigers for the two-match T20 series. Tharanga stated that the new faces are known to them as they have played in the last edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
He believes the Islanders are not worrying about the six new inclusions— Zakir Hasan, Ariful Haque, Mahedi Hassan, Afif Hossain, Nazmul Islam Apu and Abu Zayed Rahi .Upul Tharanga briefed media during a press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.
“Some of our players have played in BPL. We have enough idea about them, what can they do in the game. Though they are new faces with national jersey but they have played well in BPL. We saw some of their videos. We have an idea about them,” said Tharanga.
“Wicket condition will be the real fact in the match. We know about their capabilities. They also know what we can do in the game,” he added.
After winning the tri-series title, Sri Lanka also won the Test series against hosts Bangladesh. The left-handed Lankan opener opined that they are hopeful of winning T20 series with the same momentum.
