Police greet BCS applicants during verification

CHITTAGONG: Police set an instance through going to conduct verification of two applicants, who got recommendation for appointment in Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), with flower and sweet in the port city on Monday.

The cops led by Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Assistant Commissioner (AC-Kotwali) Jahangir Alam went to the houses of the two applicants in Alkaran and Uttar Nalapara areas for verification requires for the appointment. 

Of the students, Amena Marjan got recommendation for appointment in the Admin Cadre while Sabrina Yasmin Pushpa in Education Cadre after successfully passing the examinations of the 36th BCS.

AC Kotwali Jahangir Alam said the duo passed the examination after competing with several lakh students and proved their brilliance.  “So, they should be greeted. As their addresses are under my zone I went with flower and sweet to congratulate them along with performing my duty,” he said.

“Besides, usually applicants have negative concept about the verification process. I took the step to help them come out of the concept,” said Jahangir who joined Bangladesh Police after passing the 30th BCS.

The applicants also expressed satisfaction over getting the verification done without any hassle and cordial cooperation from the police.
