BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday demanded deployment of army in the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-election.
“During the DNCC election in 2015, we had seen that people couldn’t cast their ballots. The voting rights were also taken away during the general election in January 5, 2014,” he said. The BNP leader came up with the statements at a press conference at its central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.
He said no election was held in a ‘free and fair way’ under the current government, but BNP is participating in the DNCC polls as part of their movement.
Rizvi, also in charge of BNP office secretary, called upon people, including party leaders and activists, to make the BNP nominated mayoral candidate win in the city polls.
