BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday said if police do not grant them permission for holding a public rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on January 5, they are willing to arrange the event in front of their party central office in Nayapaltan of the capital.
“We want to believe that the government will show respect to the democratic rights of BNP and allow it to hold a peaceful rally through giving permission,” he said.
The BNP leader came up with the statement at a press conference at its central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Wednesday.
The BNP leader said they have already sought permission for holding the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan, but they didn’t get any response.
Referring to the news reports, the BNP leader said an unknown party instead of BNP got permission for holding a public rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on the same day.
