‘APICTA Awards’ kicks off in city

The 17th edition of ‘APICTA Awards’ began at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Thursday.   

APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance), an alliance of ICT organisations, in association with the Department of ICT and the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) is organising the event.

There are a total of three parts of the four-day event.  Around 400 tech experts from APICTA member countries - Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Srilanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh - have attended the programme.

APICTA recognises potential and successful entrepreneurs, software and information technology services as well as the development of information technology sector. Bangladesh is organising this mega event for the first time.

The APICTA Awards- 2017 Convener and BASIS Senior Vice-President Russell T Ahmed said, “This is the first experience for Bangladesh ICT Sector to organise such an event with 400 foreign guests from 16 countries.”
