Mymensingh district claimed their third consecutive title of JFA Under-14 Women’s Football Championship defeating their opponent Thakurgaon district by 3-0 goals in the final on Friday.
The match was held at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.
Mymensingh took the first lead of the match in the 10th minute. Rozina Akter netted from the penalty area, courtesy of a pass by teammate Salma Khatun.
Rozina kept up the momentum for Mymensingh and scored her and team’s second goal in the 16th minute.
The runners-up tried to bounce back in the game but confident Mymensingh didn’t let that happen for a minute.
After conceding two goals, Thakurgaon looked unprepared against Mymensingh’s attack.
However, Mymensingh added more misery to Thakurgaon before the half time and when Shasunnahal scored the third goal for their side. Amena Khatun made the assist for Shamsunnahar to deliver the goal.
No more goals was scored in the second half but first half’s performance decided the result of the match as Mymensingh were honoured with their hat-trick title. They dedicated their victory to their fellow teammate Sabina Yeasmin, who passed away in September this year.
In total 35 district level teams participated in the tournament, associated by Japan Football Association.
Six venue champions and two runners-up joined in the last phase of the event after the district level matches. This was the first time for Thakurgaon to play in JFA U-14 final.
