Cricketers Mashrafe Mortaza and Subashis Roy have been reprimanded for their banter on the field during their Bangladesh Premier League T20 match on November 8.

Strong verbal duel between Rangpur Riders skipper Mashrafe Mortaza and Chittagong Vikings pacer Subashis Roy during their BPL clash not only stunned the local crowds but also created social media stir.

However, Both Mashrafe and Subashis apologised for their on-field spat after the match to calm the situation, taking a selfie together and came to live on Facebook.

The incident happened during the 17th over of the match while Rangpur was chasing against Chittagong Vikings, Mashrafe defended Subashis’ yorker and then Subashis attempted to throw the bowl furiously at Mashrafe.  “Just go and bowl,” said Mashrafe.

In reply, Subashis began trash-talking. Mashrafe was stunned at Subashis’ furious behavior as Subahis continued to sledge until being urged to refrain by his mates.

Match referee Niamur Rashid Rahul confirmed that both the players have been discharged with soft warnings.

No formal hearing was need in that case. He also added that no demerit point will be added to their record as they have admitted their fault and they have clean records so far.
