Premier league football resumes Monday

The second leg of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will kick off on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

The prestigious league, sponsored by Saif Power Battery Ltd, will be back to continue and enthrall the football fans of the nation as the 12 teams will playing against each other to win the title of this season.

The opener of the second phase of BPL will be played between holders Dhaka Abahani Ltd and newcomers Saif Sporting Club Ltd at 4:00pm at BNS.

Table topper after phase-1 Chittagong Abahani will lock horns with Farashganj Sporting Cclub in the other opening day’s fixture at 6:15pm at the same venue.

On the following day (Tuesday), title contender Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will face Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club at 4:00pm while Brothers Union Ltd will encounter Team BJMC at 6:15pm.

After the 11th round first phase matches, Chittagong Abahani Limited maintained top position in the list securing 26 points, followed by Sheikh Jamal DC and Dhaka Abahani Ltd with 24 points each.

According to the itinerary published by Bangladesh Football Federation, the second phase will continue from November 13 to January 12, 2018 where 11 rounds of matches will be played.

At the end of this season, the bottom two clubs of the BPL will be relegated to Bangladesh Championship League.
