Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited completely outplayed old Dhaka outfit Farashganj Sporting Club by 5-0 goals in their eleventh round Bangladesh Premiere League match at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital on Friday.

The match saw Sheikh Jamal dominate the course of the match since the start of play. Jamal came into the match as the favourites and portrayed why that is.

After this win Sheikh Jamal need just three points to dethrone Chittagong Abahani Ltd from the top of the ranking table as they climbed up to the 2nd position of table.

Joseph Afusi’s boys started the match in the most spirited manner possible; it was carnage from the word ‘go’.

Jamal attacking spearhead Raphael Onwrebe kept on breaking into Farashganj D-box several times in the first two minutes. It was evident that was something was going to give away, ultimately Farashganj defence surrendered to the brilliance of the beast named Raphael.

On the 3rd minute, Raphael took a run for the kill and proper assist by Jamal midfield he placed his and club’s first of the many goals of the match.

The celebrations weren’t over for the first goal came the second goal for Sheikh Jamal. This goal was possible courtesy of a brilliant play by the youngster Mohammad Yasin Khan on the 5th minute.

The phrase ‘Morning shows the day’ came true for Sheikh Jamal as Jamal attacking midfielders continued to pound the Farashganj line-up.

On the 25th minute Raphael ‘The Nigerian wonder’ struck once again as he scored his second goal of the match through a bullet of a shot from a cross.

The next ten minutes of the match was determined the result of the match as Raphael went to penetrate into Farashganj line numerous times. The consistently frequent attacks made sure the momentum was with Sheikh Jamal.

Raphael once again sneaked through Farashganj defenders on the 30th minute to score his third goal of the match thus scoring a hat-trick in this season of BPL. He manned a deflection and placed it to perfection.

Five minutes later it was once again Raphael, who sealed the fate of the match with his fourth goal, scoring the goal on the 35th minute of the match clearing any chance for Farashganj to come back into the match.

Sheikh Jamal’s Nigerian striker was so brilliant yesterday that he made his star colleague Mamadou Bah seem redundant.

The first half ended with a scoreline of 5-0 goals for Sheikh Jamal.

The second half saw Farashganj trying to stage a comeback but with no success as the Sheikh Jamal camp made sure that they did not concede any goal during the second half as the match ended with Sheikh Jamal sealing the deal with 5 goals courtesy of Raphael and Farshganj managing to score none.
