Mahbubul Hoque Shakil Award introduced

Mahbubul Hoque Shakil Sangsad has introduced an award titled ‘Mahbubul Hoque Shakil Award’ recently.  

The award will be given out annually to a young poet by the Mahbubul Hoque Shakil Sangsad to honour Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, Special Assistant of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who died of cardiac arrest on December 6 last year.

This year, the award will be given to a young poet at a programme on Shakil’s birthday on December 20.

Both poets and publishers from Bangladeshi alive citizens, age under 40-year can apply for the award with their poems.

A five-member selection committee will determine the winning poet, who will be presented with an award of TK One lakh.  

Interested writers and publishers urged to send five copies of their books to the following address: Nazir Ahmed Simab, Assistance Director, Teacher- Student Centre (TSC), second floor, Dhaka University.

It may be mentioned that, Shakil was published thrice as a poet in book forms – “Kherokhatar Pata Theke”, “Mon Kharaper Gari”, and “Jole Khuji Dhatob Mudra”—to his credit.
