Fahmida Nabi comes up with 16th solo album

Popular singer Fahmida Nabi is going to release her 16th solo album titled ‘Bhul Kore Bhalobeshecci’.  In her new solo album will be included a new song composed by recently demised music composer, lyricist and singer Lucky Akhand.

In 2004, Lucky Akhand composed  the song “Bishonnota diona aamai” for Fahmida Nabi under the lyrics written by Golam Morshed.  But Fahmida could not get scope to release the song.

Bengal Foundation is going to produce her new solo, Fahmida Nabi said. Before Eid she has finished recording of eight songs at Om Studio in Kolkata.

All these songs were written by Golam Morshed and four songs were composed by Nipo, one was by Sajib Das while rest two were by singer herself.  In the middle of July, the album will be launched.

“Lucky Chacha’s song was done more than 12 years ago. Due to various complexities I couldn’t render the song. At last, I have rendered the song to pay tribute to him. So I am feelings good now. In the meantime, I had some other songs which compositions were in my mind which will also impress the listeners and music lovers”, Fahmida Nabi said while talking about her new solo album.  

Fahmida Nabi is a Bangladeshi singer.  She is the daughter of late singer, Mahmudun Nabi, and the elder sister of singer Samina Chowdhury.

Fahmida Nabi’s solo career started in 1979 and has spanned over three decades. She sings primarily classical and modern Bengali songs. Besides that, she sings Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Sangeet. Her first album is Tumi Tulonahina.

On 15 January 2011, she released a solo album titled Akash O Shamudra Aupar, which features 10 songs written and tuned by Dr. Salim Al Deen.  Her first duet album entitled Ek Mutho Gaan-1 (released in 2006) was recorded with Bappa Mazumder.  Fahmida Nabi and Bappa Majumder’s second studio album Ek Mutho Gaan-2 was released on the Valentine’s Day in 2010.
Fahmida Nabi’s Rabindra Sangeet album Amar Bela Je Jay was a classic hit.

Nabi is one of the judges of CloseUp1, a reality TV show on NTV (Bangladesh) from 2005 to 2013.  She runs a voice modulation institution named “Karigori” since 2007 and works as voice grooming facilitator for that institution.

Nabi won the National Film Award as the Best Female Playback Singer in 2007 for her song “Lukochuri Lukochuri Golpo” in Bengali Film AHA.  She also received Channel i Performance Award in 2008 and Meril prothom alo award 2009.
