Ctg BNP protests attack on Fakhrul’s motorcade

CHITTAGONG: BNP Vice-Chairman Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin said it is not possible to hold any election keeping BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia out of the electoral race in a planned way.
He said BNP will form government defeating Awami League (AL) in the upcoming national parliamentary polls.    
Nasir Uddin came up with the remarks as the chief guest at a protest rally jointly organised by BNP Chittagong city, North and South district units in front of the party office at Nasiman Bhaban in the city’s Kazir Dewri area on Monday.
The rally was held as a part of countrywide programme announced protesting attack on a motorcade of senior BNP leaders at Rangunia upazila in the district on Sunday morning. Leaders and activists of BNP from different wards took part at the protest programme on Monday.
Mentionable, the motorcade of BNP delegation comprising General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman Major General (retd) Ruhul Alam Chowdhury, Organising Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim and Health Affairs Secretary Dr Fawaj Hossain Shuvo came under attack on their way to landslide-ravaged Rangamati district.
Four of the leaders, including Fakhrul, were injured in the attack.

BNP blamed local lawmaker Dr Hasan Mahmud and his fellows for carrying out the attack.
