Stocks were slightly up on Tuesday with a trend of recovery as the major indices were found finishing upwards with marginal rise of large-cap securities.
The rising major sectors were banks and textiles. A total of 114 large-cap securities moved up due to higher market activities, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day with 4.66 points up at 5454.78. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 1.93 points up at 2026.64. But the Shariah DSES finished the day with 1.06 points down at 1260.99.
The day's trade value at DSE increased to Taka 400.70 crore from Monday's Taka 370.31 crore and the daily trade also rose to 12.66 crore share from 10.65 crore share of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day's 329 traded issues, 141 closed higher against 132 losing scrips.
The major gaining companies were ICB2NDNRB, PTL, UCB, HR Textile and Exim 1st Mutual Fund. The major losing companies were AB Bank, Asia Insurance, Purabi General Insurance, BD Welding and Mercantile Insurance.
PTL topped the turnover leaders followed by BD Finance, MJL BD, Lanka Bangla Finance and Active Fine.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 36.91 points up at 16910.08.
