Famous Bangladeshi film actor Ali Raj turns 60 years today. He was born on 15 March, 1957 in Sirajganj.
Today’s Ali Raj made his entry to the media through a TV play on Bangladesh Television (BTV). He acted for the first time in the BTV drama titled ‘Bhangoner Shabda Shuni’, written by Selim Al Deen and directed by Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bacchu. In that time Aliraj was known as W Anwar.
When he was in class five, he started acting in theatre in his school. He would also work with different theatre clubs in Sirajganj that time.
Later on, he worked with Tarun Sampraday, a Sirajganj-based theatre troupe, for many years. And he shifted to Dhaka and joined Dhaka Theatre in 1977.
He was gained popularity after acting the film named “Satbhai” under the direction of Nayak Raj Razzak in 1984. After releasing the film in the same year, Ali Raj was a regular face in the acting arena.
And his former name W Anwar was changed as Ali Raj. He acted as many as 400 films in his acting career, but his best work was the BTV drama serial “Dhakai Thaki”.
He acted as the character of Mahmud in “Dakhai Tahki” drama serial.
He has no special arrangement for the celebration of his sixty years birthday. He will celebrate his birthday with his Wife and two children in his home.
Ali Raj acted various films among them some are Sohojatri, Koifiot, Niyoti, Padma Meghna Jamuna, Dongshon, Somman and Ai Ghor Ai songsar etc.
His full name is Anwar Hossen. While he was applied for acting in BTV Anwar Hossian Bulu was wrote his name W Anwar. Hailing from Sirajganj, Ali Raj always expresses his gratefulness to veteran cinematographer Anwar Hossain Bulu, who has always been an immense support for Ali Raj till today.
