Citizens Bank launches Islamic banking

Citizens Bank PLC has launched its Islamic banking operations under the brand name Citizens Islamic, expanding its services to customers seeking Shariah-compliant financial solutions.

The operations were formally inaugurated on Monday by Chairman Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb, according to a press release. Directors, senior executives, members of the Shariah Supervisory Committee and business leaders attended the event.

The new initiative will offer Shariah-compliant savings, investment and financing facilities, with a focus on corporate businesses, SMEs, industries and other productive sectors.

Managing Director Alamgir Hossain and Prof Dr Mohammad Abdus Samad, chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, were also present.

The bank said it will combine Islamic banking principles with modern technology to provide transparent and inclusive financial services under the slogan “Pure Banking, Prosperous Tomorrow.”
