Around two-thousand leaders and workers of enclave movement today joined the Awami League.
They formally joined the ruling party by giving bouquets of flowers to district Awami League President Aminul Islam Mondal and General Secretary M Zafar Ali at Rashmela of Dashiasara, the biggest enclave of the district, BSS reports.
Enclave Exchange Coordination Committee General Secretary Golam Mostafa, Organising secretary Nur Islam, Publicity Secretary Zahidul Islam, Office Secretary Tara Miah, Dashiasara unit president Altaf Hossain, general secretary Mojaffar Hossain, organising secretary Nure Alam were among others.
"We the people of now-defunct enclave joined the Awami League as we have confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who gave us freedom from confinement," Golam Mostafa said.
Sultana Shirin, one of the workers of the enclave movement, said they joined the Awami League as they believe they would realize the demands of the enclave movement.
