BNP-Jamaat committing terrorism with foreign prescriptions: Quamrul

DHAKA: Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam today said a faction of BNP-Jamaat is committing terrorist acts inside the country following foreign prescription.

 

"BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman are giving lead to these terrorist activities from abroad," he said as the main speaker at a discussion meeting at Shilpakala Academy here.

 

Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jot organized the discussion meeting marking "Freedom Fighters and Soldier Killing Day".

 

He said the government filed cases against Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman not with any political motive rather because of tehir involvement in terrorist acts.

 

The minister also criticized London based human rights organization Amnesty International for their statement questioning credibility of the war crimes tribunal.

 

Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun, MP, spoke as the chief guest while senior Vice President of the Jot ATM Samsuzzaman was in the chair.

 

In another programme in Keraniganj marking 44th National Cooperative day, the minister laid emphasis on involving youth community in management of haat-bazar through cooperatives for lessening unemployment problems.
