A three-day maiden All Bengal Baul Song Conference will begin tomorrow in the capital marking 125th death anniversary of Fakir Lalon Shah, a Bengali baul saint.
Lalon Bishwa Sangha will organize the conference at Sri Sri Anandamoyee Asram at city's Suhrawardi Udyan where noted baul artistes from the two Bengals will participate in the conference.
Fakir Mohammad Ali Shah, chief warden of Lalon's grave at Kushtia, will inaugurate the conference at 4pm.
Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashed Khan Menon will attend the conference as the chief guest. Former Cultural Secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas and veteran Lalon song artiste Farida Parvin will attend as the special guests.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be the chief guest at concluding session of the conference and baul reception programme on October 4.
Nightlong rendition of baul songs, seminars, discussion and reception will be held during the conference.
