Dhaka: 5th Commward, Excellence in Creative Communication, will be held on 29th of August at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. Commward is the largest initiative in Bangladesh in recognizing and inspiring creative advertising in business and marketing, since 2009. Organized in association with Cannes Lions, the day-long festival on creative communication will organize Communication Summit, Cannes Showcasing, Panel Discussion & Gala Award Ceremony. The festival will be attended by 600 professionals from the business, marketing and creative agencies this year.
Advertising, PR firms, production houses and creative departments of local & multinational companies are invited every year to nominate their most creative & effective ad campaigns run in press, electronic and online media. Nominations are received from creative agencies across 21 categories with two new categories making their debut this year, namely: Art Direction & Campaign for Women. Three Jury Panels have assessed each nomination based on a number of scoring criteria namely: concept, strategy, execution & impact.
This year, Commward has received total 367 nominations from 36 advertising agencies & creative departments of various organizations – the highest number of nominations ever received in Commward!
Communication Summit is an integral part of Commward festival. Communication Summit is designed to impart the best practices and learning on creative marketing & communication through six world-renowned speaker sessions. The speakers taking their sessions are: Indranil Chakraborty, Founder of StoryWorks; Bickey Russell, Head of Agency Development, Global SMB Revenue Organisation, Google; Dave McCaughan is a Marketing Thought Leader and Storyteller, at BIBLIOSEXUAL; Muralidhar Salvateeswaran, Managing Director, South India, Milward Brown; Dan Mobley, Regional Head of Corporate Affairs, India & South Asia, Standard Chartered; and Managing Partner & Country Head of Grey Dhaka, Syed Gousul Alam Shaon.
The best of international creativity in communication will be shared through “Cannes Showcasing” which is open for all. Around 60 of the award winning creative communication works ranging from print ads, billboards to interactive campaigns will be showcased on boards and on digital media.
A Gala Award Ceremony will also take place at 7.00 pm to honor the winning AD campaigns. Across 21 categories, winning campaigns will be recognized in three ranks: Grand Prix, Gold and Silver. The months’ long hunt for the best creative works in Bangladesh was made possible with rigorous assessment sessions by honorable Jury members which included expert marketers and communication specialists of the country.
