Kamal Ahmed has two identities. Many know him as an official of Bangladesh Betar. However, to any intimate listener of Rabindra Sangeet he is a Tagore artiste as well. Kamal Ahmed is a big admirer of Rabindranath Tagore. Maximum of his previous albums were based on Rabindranath’s songs. On the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s 74th death anniversary Kamal Ahmed’s latest album was launched on 4 August at a city restaurant. Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu attended the programme as the chief guest. Kazi Aktharuddin Ahmed, Director General, Bangladesh Betar and noted Tagore artiste Rezwana Chowdhury Bonna were present as the special guests.

Kamal Ahmed was born in Khokra village in Pabna district. From his early childhood, he was a meritorious student. He obtained scholarship in the junior scholarship examination.
