Six former Bangladesh Chhatra (BCL) League leaders were show-caused on Saturday for torching posters and banners containing pictures of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
BCL’s Brahmanbaria unit issued the notices and asked them to reply within two days.
Shahadat Hossain, general secretary of BCL’s district unit, said they issued the notices after receiving a written complaint that those leaders had torn up the posters and banners of Prime Minister and Bangabandhu before setting them afire on February 10.
He said the student front would investigate the incident.
On February 18, a case was filed with Speedy Trial Tribunal against nine people, including Nabinagar Upazila Parishad chairman aspirant Habibur Rhaman Stephen, over similar allegations.
