Country’s first digital university Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) has published the admission result of its first batch for 2018-19 academic session.
The first year honours’ admission results were made available on the university website http://bdu.ac.bd and admission related website http://admission.bdu.ac.bd at 10:00 am on Thursday.
Candidates were also informed of their results through SMS to the numbers they provided on the application form.
The selected students were chosen for admission based on their academic results (GPA) in HSC and SSC.
A total of 8,505 admission seekers applied for 100 (50+50) seats under two faculties.
The selected students were asked to complete their admission process from February 27 to March 4.
The newly approved two faculties are Engineering Faculty and Education and Research Faculty. The courses under these two faculties are Bachelor of Science in IOT (Internet of Things) and Bachelor of Science in ICT (Information and Communications Technology).
BDU VC Munaz Ahmed Noor said, “Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has established the university with a view to creating skilled manpower in ICT sector from youths across the country. The youths have responded to the initiative as a total of 8,505 students applied for 100 (50+50) seats. Among them, 2,211 applicants have got GPA 5 both in SCC and HSC. We have selected best 100 students from them based on their top scores.
He said, “We are starting our academic activities with these 100 talented youths. Preparing these youths as the world standard technologist is our goal.”
The university authority published the admission circular on December 28, 2018.
