BNP declared a two days program schedule to invigorate the party leaders and activists after eleventh national parliamentary elections.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday announced that they will hold a public rally on February 8 at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
The rally will begin at 2pm to demand the immediate release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who will complete one year of imprisonment on the day, and other arrested party leaders and activists.
The program also includes formation of a human-chain on Wednesday in front of the Jatiya Press Club, to protest the first session of the 11th parliament.
Rizvi made the announcements at a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters in the capital.
He said the previous Parliamentary election was nothing but an internationally recognized mockery with the people of Bangladesh.
He said, “Telling Lie and controlling the media were their weapons for manufacturing the false result. But they cannot fool the nation since we have witnessed huge vote rigging in the polls.
He also said winning the election with fake votes and harassing the opposition leaders and followers and the poor peoples shattered the nation completely.
