Almost everything around us needs a base. A tree stands tall with the help of its roots. A building is raised on its pillars. Even in character, we need strong foundations to raise a child with moral principles. Without digressing much further, the key point to note is that just as everything needs pillars, our beauty routine also needs to be established on strong foundations.
Without following certain principles and maintaining a good discipline, we might look good temporarily. After all, there are plenty of makeovers to hide blemishes! However, in the long run, the condition of our skin will deteriorate. Instead of being the winners, we end up being losers- losing our confidence as well as good skin. So without wasting further time, let’s take a closer look on what needs to be done. Of course, we would be doing other things as well! But these are the four most important foundations that are required if you want to possess great skin:
The importance of cleaning your skin can never be denied. It’s all more important in winter since this is the time of the year we develop water phobia! Face cleaning is vital to have a bright, glowing skin. Wash your face thoroughly with a facial cleanser or face wash, and pat the skin dry with a soft towel. Avoid hot water as it dries out the skin. Next, dab some cleansing milk on a cotton pad and wipe your face with it in order to unclog your pores and remove any leftover dirt.
Moisturizing is your best friend. The moisturizer nourishes skin around face and neck that is left dry from cleansing. During winter, you can use moisturizer on hands and legs too. Don't forget to moisturize your face before going to bed. For dry skin, use milder cleansers that are free from alcohol. And for acne prone skin, use a lotion that contains benzoyl peroxide.
Proceed by applying a face scrub for a few minutes since it helps eliminate dead skin cells, which make your skin look dull. You can also skip the store-bought variety, and instead apply a mix of sugar and honey in equal parts to exfoliate your skin naturally. Scrub your face for 5 minutes, and then leave it on for another 3 minutes or so, before you wash it off. Make sure you exfoliate at least once a week.
Make sure you drink plenty of water. Keeping skin hydrated is the best way to slow down the process of aging.
Besides these, try to eat a balanced diet. Reduce stress from your life by doing exercise or yoga. Use fack-packs twice or thrice a month. Make sure you give yourself sufficient sleep.
