Rangpur Riders captain Masrhafe Mortaza took his T20 career’s first four-wicket haul against Comilla Victorians in their second clash of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital on Tuesday.
Comilla Victorians were dismissed cheaply for a paltry 63 runs against Rangpur Riders in their match on Tuesday. This is their lowest first-innings total and fourth lowest first-innings total in the history of BPL.Earlier, Rangpur won the toss and opted to bowl first. Comilla were struggling from the start of their innings as they lost five wickets for just 18 runs. Mashrafe took 4 of them for just 11 runs which was his career-best bowling figures in a T20 match format. Tamim Iqbal (4), Imrul Kayes (2), Evin Lewis (8) and Steve Smith (0) fell in his spell, all finding it difficult to get him away.
Mashrafe finished his bowling quota of 4 overs taking 4 wickets with 18 dot balls. The spectacular Mashrafe started his hunting streak by taking the wicket of Comilla Victorians batsman Tamim Iqbal.
Taking four wickets for just 11 runs, Mashrafe surpassed his previous best bowling record in the BPL which was 3 wickets for 16 runs.
Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani super-star was the only batsman to touch a two-digit score in the match. He scored 25 runs of 18 balls with 3 fours and 1 six to his name.
