A fire broke out at a bamboo market in the capital’s Merul Badda area on early hour of Saturday, says fire service official.
According to the control officer of the Fire Service and Civil defence the fire erupted around 12:30am Friday night.
At least six fire units rushed to the spot to douse the fire soon after being informed. A firecrew said they were facing trouble due to lack of water in the area. They were trying to pumping out water from nearby Hatirjheel.
However, the origin of the fire was not clear and the loses was not estimated immediately, a senior fire officer told.
