BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday described the national election as a ‘cruel mockery’ with the nation.
“Today’s (Sunday’s) election is a cruel mockery with the nation. This type of election is very dangerous for the nation. The future of the nation faces a great loss through the election,” he said.
Fakhrul was expressing his instant reaction to journalists while leaving BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office for the residence of Jatiya Oikya Front chief Dr Kamal Hossain for a meeting there.
The BNP leader returned to the capital from Thakurgaon around 6:55pm and held a brief meeting with the party senior leaders at the chairperson’s office.
Later, he set out for Dr Kamal’s residence.
