Jatiya Party (JAPA)’s newly appointed secretary general Mashiur Rahman Ranga on Friday said only popular JP candidates will get nomination from the grand alliance for contesting the upcoming general election slated for December 30.
“The 11th parliamentary election will be very competitive as the BNP is participating in the forthcoming election . . . That is why JP will nominate only those popular candidates who can become victorious in the polls,” he told journalists at the JP Chairman’s Banani office.
He also announced that the JP’s electoral manifesto will be declared within next two days.
He also said the list of JP candidates will be finalised within next two days as the discussion regarding the seat-sharing is going on with other partners of the grand alliance.
Ranga expressed hope that the Jatiya Party may be given 45 seats for contesting the upcoming polls.
Presidium Member of Jatiya Party SM Faisal Chisti, Mujibur Rahman Sentu and Chairman’s Advisor Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, among others, were also present on the occasion.
