BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah has been picked by DB police.
His personal assistant Moksedur Rahman Abir confirmed the matter to media.
He was picked from his New Iskaton residence in the capital at 7:00 pm this evening.
Earlier on the day, a Dhaka court awarded him jail sentence for three years in a case filed against him for not submitting his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The court also fined him Tk 50 thousand, by default, or he has to serve three-month more imprisonment.
The court issued arrest warrant against Rafiqul as he did not appear before it today (Tuesday) while delivering the verdict.
In 2001, the then Anti-Corruption Commission asked Rafiqul Islam a notice to submit his wealth statement.
