Bangladesh cricket team consistent performer Mushfiqur Rahim completed his second double ton when his side was playing in the first innings on day two against visiting Zimbabwe in their second and final Test of a series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
With this feat, he has become the first wicket-keeper-batsman to score two double centuries in Test cricket.
He also became the Bangladesh batsman to face most deliveries in a single innings , going past Mohammad Ashraful’s 417 deliveries faced against Sri Lanka in Galle during an innings of 190 back in 2013.
Mushfiq took a single run to reach the 200-run mark off Sikandar Raza, pulling a short ball off to square leg before barely made the crease as the throw arrived.
He fired 16 boundaries and one six off 406 balls to reach 200-run in first innings 135.5 overs with Bangladesh’s 486/7* in the third session.
Mushfiq hit his double first with a 200-run against Sri Lanka in a draw match at Galle International Stadium in March 2013. That came from 231 balls with 22 boundaries and one six, also in a first innings.
