The government has appointed Md Nazmul Quaunine, currently serving as Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, as Bangladesh's new Ambassador to Thailand.
Quaunine is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
In his diplomatic career, Quaunine earlier served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates and also in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in London, Islamabad, Washington, Kolkata and Geneva.
He served as Director General in charge of Europe and External Publicity wings, said the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
Quaunine graduated from Dhaka Medical College. After joining the service, he also undertook postgraduate training on diplomatic studies at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland as well as Executive Training Course at the South Asian Center for Strategic Studies, Washington D.C.
