ACC conducts sudden drive at RAJUK office

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday conducted a drive at the office of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) in the capital following allegation of irregularities in allocation of plot.

A team led by ACC assistant director Nazmul Hasan conducted the drive after the commission got allegations through its hotline 106 that RAJUK cancelled allocation of a plot of a people and allocating it in favour of another person.

During the drive, ACC officials scrutinizing the papers of the plot at the office and found that RAJUK allocated a plot of Purbachal New Town Project in favour of one Jubilee Haque on October 28, 2003. Later, they allocated the same plot in favour of AFM Saiful Islam on August 5, 2010.

When asked, RAJUK officials assured the ACC team that the incident took place mistakenly and the first allocation will be existed while another plot will be allocated for the second person.

ACC Director General (admin) Muhammad Munir Chowdhury said allocation of same plot in favour of two people is a grate irregularity. He said action will be taken if the two people will face any kinds of suffering to get their plots.
