Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP has ridden on Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain as the party is in dire need of a leadership.
“Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is imprisoned and even its acting chairperson has been sentenced for life and in exile for long. So it needs a leader and that’s why it has ridden on Dr. Kamal,” he added.Quader, also road, transport and bridges minister, made the remarks while visiting a makeshift temple in Noakhali on Wednesday.
The AL general secretary termed Jatiya Oikya Front a unity of hotchpotch.
Calling on the minority people to be alert at BNP, Quader said the minority people cannot stay at home, if BNP comes to power.
“The allies of BNP are communal forces so the minority people will be in trouble, if BNP returns to power. So the communal forces must be resisted in the upcoming national polls,” he added.
“So we all have to reelect Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as no desire of the minority community is unfulfilled,” he said.
The minister also greeted the local Hindu community on the occasion of Durga Puja.
