A heavy to very heavy rainfall has swept across the country, including Dhaka this morning (Friday)
Due to severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ over coastal Odisha, India, heavy to very heavy rainfall is occurring at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions commencing from 3 pm on Thursday.
The severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ moved slightly northwestwards over coastal Odisha and adjoining area of India. It has moved north northwestwards further inland and weaken gradually.
Under the influence of the severe cyclonic storm, steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay, a deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Squally weather affected the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
