The achievement of Guinness World Record for cleanliness campaign by Dhaka South City Corporation's (DSCC) has been dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon came up with the announcement at a press conference in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
Dhaka has been listed in Guiness World Record for cleanliness campaign breaking the record of Ahmedabad of India.
Over 15,000 people took part in a sweeping programme in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on April 13.
The announcement was made on Monday while the authorities of Guinness Book of World Record handed over the certificate to DSCC mayor the same day, according to the website of the Guinness Book of World Records.
