Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said the use of the electronic voting machine (EVM) in the upcoming general election depends on the enactment of the law.
Nurul Huda said this on Saturday while speaking at a workshop on using EVM at Electoral Training Institute at Agargaon in the capital.
"If the EVM is used, voting will be easier and vote-rigging will be protected," he said.
While speaking to the participants of the workshop, CEC said: "People have questions about the fair use of the electronic voting machine (EVM) in the election. However, we will try to assure the fairness through our effort. EVM will not be used if there is any technical error."
