4 electrocuted in Cumilla

Four people were electrocuted in Cumilla as a live wire fell on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw.


Three passengers and the driver have died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Abu Taher, 60, Taher's son Bayezid, 35, Taher's daughter Fahima Akter, 18 and CNG auto-rickshaw driver Sarwar Hossain, son of Abdur Rahim of Shankarpur village in the upazila.


The incident took place around 12:30 pm on Friday at Bagmara area under Moukara Union in Nangalkot upazila of the district.


Officer-in-charge of Nangalkot Thana confirming the matter said, the auto-rickshaw was heading to Nangalkot with boarding three passengers. On its way, a live wire of Rural Electrification Board fell on the auto-rickshaw killing them on the spot.


The bodies were kept on police custody after being recovered, he added.
