Md Altafur Rahman of Daily Sun and Rashedul Islam Ratul, faculty of Daffodil International University (DIU) were elected President and General Secretary respectively of the Daffodil International University Journalism and Mass Communication Alumni Association (DIUJMCAA) on Tuesday.
A 27-member executive committee has been formed for next one year in a meeting of DIUJMCAA held at JMC Media Lab on the campus.
Other members of the committee are: Anishur Rahman (Jamuna TV) as advisor; Md. Hasan Imam Imran (G TV) as senior vice-president; Sabina Yesmin (Prothom Alo) and Mostafa Mahbub Alam (DBC News) as vice-presidents; Mohammad Hasib (Channel 9) and Abdur Razzak Sarker (Samakal) as joint secretaries; Md Jahurul Islam (Breakingnews.com.bd) as treasurer; Rakibul Azam Rana (Businessman) as organizing secretary; Sayeda Sadia Shahrin Jheel (Prothom Alo) as programme secretary; Md. Kamal Uddin Rumy (Deepto TV) as literature and cultural secretary; Sadia Chowdhury (Deepto TV) as women affairs secretary; Nadim Chowdhury (DIU) as public relations; Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury (Jamuna TV) as press and publication secretary; Forhad Hossain Roni (ACI Motors Ltd) as office secretary; Al Imran (Palli Mongal Karmosuchi) as sports secretary; Anamul Haque (Independent TV) as social welfare secretary; Abdur Rahim (Ekattor TV) as felicitation secretary; Khairul Bashar Noyan (Ethics Advance Technology Ltd) as multimedia and ICT secretary; Md Mahbubur Rahman (Boomerang Digital) as co-multimedia and ICT secretary; Setara Naznin (Beaconbangla.com), M. Suruj Ahmed (News24), Arif Hossain (MassComm), Abdul Hannan (Iconic Focus), Ishrat Jahan Abeer (Diamond World) and Jisan Mahadi (Cinema Bangladesh) as executive members.
Daily Sun Sub Editor-cum-Reporter (Sports) Md Altafur Rahman, committees’ President, said the main purpose of the organisation is to build a strong bondage among the former and current students.
