Bashundhara Paper Mills Limited (BPML) on Sunday launched an international-standard mosquito coil which has no bad impact on health.
Bashundhara Group Director Yeasha Sobhan launched the household brand of ‘Xtreme Mosquito Coil’ at a function at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters in the capital.
Bashundhara Group Deputy Managing Director Mustafizur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer Mirza Mujahidul Islam, BPML Executive Director Masuduzzaman, Human Resource Head Delwar Hossain and Marketing General Manager Mohammad Toufiq Hasan were, among others, present on the occasion.
Officials of the company shared their plan to lead local and international market by dominating the ‘so-called’ Chinese coil brands which make health hazards by emitting injurious smoke.
There are about 8 crore of people using anti-mosquito coil to defend the insect which causes deadly diseases of Dengue and Malaria, they said.
Bashundhara Group Deputy Managing Director Mustafizur Rahman said the export-oriented coil has been being manufactured for two years and exported to African countries.
“We’ve got a good response from the international market. So, we now plan to lead the local market by introducing the mosquito coils. There are many so-called Chinese coil brands in the market which are using some chemicals that cause health problems,” he added.
Officials of the company claimed that the coil is manufactured using state-of-art technology.
BPML Executive Director Masuduzzaman said the main substance of the coil is Dimefluthrin which is safe for health. It is also affordable as a pack of 10 coils is worth Tk 55.
“We want to ensure sound sleep for everyone. There are many coils which only make smoke and emit injurious substance making irritating situation,” he added.
General Manager Mohammad Toufiq Hasan informed that the coil is manufactured as a byproduct of paper wastage which is considered as first time from a paper mill in the country.
It should be mentioned that BPML, a subsidiary of Bashundhara Group, is an enlisted firm in capital market and operating paper products manufacturing in three production units in Narayanganj and Munshiganj.
