Raifa’s death: 4 Max Hospital doctors get bail

A Chattogram court on Monday granted bail to four doctors of privately-run Max Hospital in the port city in a case filed over the death of minor girl Raifa Khan ‘due to negligence’ in her treatment.

The four accused who secured bail are Dr Bidhan Roy Chowdhury, Dr Debashish Sengupta, Dr Shuvra Deb, and hospital Managing Director Dr. Liakat Ali.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Salem Md Noman passed the order after the accused surrendered before the court and sought bail in the case, said Kazi Sahabuddin Ahmed, assistant commissioner (prosecution) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

Raifa Khan, 3, died due to wrong treatment at the private hospital in the port city in the early hours of June 29.
