Two friends were killed in a road crash on Bogura-Natore Highway in Bijoyghat area of Nandigram upazila of Bogura on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Ferdous Alam, 45, son of late Mayen Uddin of Namuit village and Ismail Hossain, 53, son of late Manik Uddin of Kadma village of the same upazila.
The accident took place when a speeding microbus hit an auto-rickshaw carrying the duo around 9:00 pm, leaving Ismail dead on the spot, said Abdul Bari, chairman of Nandigram Sadar Union.
Ferdous was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogura where the duty doctors declared him dead on the same night, he added.
