The main congregation of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be held at Jatiya Eidgah Maidan near the Supreme Court premises in the capital at 8:00am on Wednesday.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon said that the main Eid congregation is scheduled to be held at 8:00am at Jatiya Eidgah Maidan, but it will be shifted to Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in case of inclement weather.
President Abdul Hamid, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, ministers, member of parliaments and diplomats are expected to take part in the Eid Jamaat at the Jatiya Eidgah.
Around 14,000 law enforcers will be deployed in the capital to ensure five-tier security in and around the capital, said Asaduzzaman Mian.
As usual, the largest Eid congregation of the country is expected to be held at Sholakia in Kishoreganj.
A total of 409 Eid congregations will be held in the capital under two city corporations. Of those, 230 Eid congregations will be held under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and the rest 179 under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
