Police on Saturday arrested a Union Parishad (UP) member for allegedly beating the headmaster of a government primary school in Muragacha village of Manirampur upazila of Jashore.

Manowar Hossain, 30, member of Rohita Union Parishad in the upazila was detained for beating Uttam Kumar Das, 55, the headmaster of Mahtabnagar Government Primary School of the same union.
