Faria Mahjabin, an entrepreneur, who was arrested on Thursday night from Dhanmondi area in the city on charges of spreading rumour on social media to instigate the recent student movement for road safety, has been placed on a three-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate AKM Mainuddin Siddiqui passed the order after Inspector Majedul Islam of Hazaribagh Police Station placed her with a seven-day remand prayer.
The law enforcers handed her over to Hazaribagh police around 11:00 am on Friday.
Mahjabin, 28, wife of Mohammad Riasat, runs a coffee shop named Nerdy Bean Coffee House in Dhanmondi of the capital. She studied at the North Western University, according to the RAB.
