Railways Minister Md Mazibul Hoque on Friday said leave of important officials of Bangladesh Railways (BR) has been cancelled in a bid to handle growing number of passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
“The pressure of passengers is increasing manifold during the Eid holidays. In spite of this, we are trying to provide our maximum service with our limited resources,” he said.
The minister said while talking to newsmen at Kamalapur Railway Station while inspecting the rail service there.
Hoque said 32 trains left for their respective destinations on time today till 3pm and hoped that the schedule will be maintained in future too.
Railways Secretary Md Mofazzal Hossain and BR Director General Md Amzad Hossain were present on the occasion, among others.
