The first Namaz-E-Janaza of Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Chief Whip of the opposition in parliament, will be held at the South Plaza of parliament in Dhaka after Asr prayer today (Tuesday).
The Jatiya Party presidium member breathed his last at United Hospital in the city around 11:45pm. He had been suffering from kidney and heart-related complications.
He is survived by his wife, 2 sons and a daughter and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
The veteran politician was elected MP seven times from the Kurigram-2 constituency, and also served a stint as Land Minister.
