North South University (NSU) in Dhaka was closed indefinitely amid clashes with the law-enforcement agencies that left at least 50 students injured.
The authorities of the university announced the decision on Monday afternoon.
Around 1:30pm, police started throwing tear gas shells and firing rubber bullets at the students who gathered in front of the Bashundhara Residential Area, protesting the attack on their fellows of East West University in Badda.
The public relations officer of the university told media that at least 50 students were injured and of them 12 are now in critical condition.
The injured were rushed to the Apollo Hospital in the area.
